Parkour is a sport that uses a combination of the human body and our surroundings for propulsion to cross obstacles. It originated from a military obstacle course training, but adapted to urban settings where the obstacles change to buildings, pavements, walls and fences. I do not play Parkour, but when I see my two year old brother running, climbing, rolling, and jumping all over the house, I predict Parkour might be the sport for him. This increased my interest and love of Parkour, and I started with my research on the application of engineering or technology.
The year is 2025, it is 9 years to the day since we chose to follow our glorious leader Boris as he waddled out of the EU. All former ties with the USA have been completely severed; despite his former promises of Britain not being at the back of any lines for trade president Trump has dismissed us, labeling us as “Insignificant” and “Small.” Although we have lost western support, happily, our Bond with the east has never been stronger, pictures of Boris Johnson sharing borscht with Putin are commonplace amongst the pages of many a paper.
After 5 long years, NASA’s Juno spacecraft has entered Jupiter’s orbit, 588 million kilometers (540 mi) away from home. Juno is the first to orbit Jupiter after Galileo. Your probably wondering why getting to Jupiter is such an important accomplishment. This is because of its magnetic field. The magnetic field is so intense that it creates massive concentrations of radiation, called radiation belts. These radiation belts capture debris moving at nearly the speed of light, moving from top to bottom of these humungous belts in only a few seconds. This is a major issue because to record the magnitude andClick for full article
Roughly 400,000 humans and 1,000,000 animals were slaughtered under the Coliseum’s roof for the amusement of cheering spectators, an occurrence, which seemed then the norm but is now frowned upon and regarded as barbaric. We as a society have convinced ourselves that this lust for blood is completely washed from our systems and we could never appreciate the murder of so many people like the Romans did. Yet now violent films sell ticket after ticket and cinemagoers crave destruction and death on larger scales than our Roman counter parts could even imagine. Have we really evolved into a more civilized people or are we still driven by basic human desires?Click for full article
The behavior a child follows is based on what the society thinks is right and wrong, and culture. There are positive connotations and negative connotations. A positive connotation might be that Women are better caretakers than Men, but these are overgeneralized opinions and are not necessarily true. A negative stereotype may be disguised, but they are not good at all. These ideas may start at Women "supposed to like pink"and" Men supposed to like blue". But both types, positive or negative, are very bad. They effect the way we live, act, and think. We should not have Gender Stereotypes define the role Women and Men play in our society.Click for full article
South India is home to various beliefs and every house has some superstitions or another. Black is generally seen as a negative colour and is associated with a few negative occurrences, such as death or negative omens. Germany’s invasion of the Soviet Union in World war II was a vital event that took place during the battle. It all started when Hitler began to look past operation SeaLion , which was directed towards Britain, and instead turned his focus towards the Soviet Union. The operation was given the codename“Barbarossa”. The invasion was the largest operation performed by the German military during the war. The Germans had bottled up all their anger towards the Soviet Union for decades and finally released it in one carefully thought out and technical plan. Their was one main reason for the Germans wanting to carry out operation Barbarossa which was that they wanted to create havoc and destruction against a state associated with communismClick for full article
The long, wooden staircase creaked at every step I took. As I descended, I saw the barren land out in front, the sandy dirt field on which two open sheds stood on either side. I quickly put on my black sandals and hurried down to the area to meet Shree. Shree was a big-eyed, dark- skinned girl with an indescribable energy that reflected off me every time I was with her. As we walked down the unpaved path, we were struck by the lush smell of sautéed vegetables and exotic fruits filling the house next door. The Thai residents, tan-skinned with their jet black hair, smiled with their crooked teeth and waved to us as we passed by their small, rickety house. The house was filled with little cracks in the wood and it looked washed out against their darker complexions.Click for full article
In the middle of the field a big brown cow sat. Her name was Cow. She was very plump and rather lazy, moving only once every few days when she had eaten her fill. Cow was happy with her life in the field, she had an infinite source of food, could sleep whenever she wanted and chose her own bedtimes. Yes. Cow was very happy. That was, until one day, Cow sat down on a particularly luscious patch of green grass and felt a painful sting on her rump. She had accidentally disturbed a very angry neighbour.
Cow leapt up from her resting place with a very sore bottom and started searching the blades of grass around him for any sign of the culprit. Soon, under a crumpled group of stalks the heifer found a very angry fly.Click for full article
I started to call out to him, but upon remembering, the words caught again in the very back of my throat. It was nearly impossible, for some reason, for me to simply reach out and take his hand, even when he was only but a few inches away. It was as if some otherworldly force had been weighing me down stationary, restraining me and tightening the bonds until soon when all of my limbs felt so constricted that the scarlet flow froze in their pulsating channels.
My body is heavy. Every limb resists with the inexorable force of a magnet my efforts to drag myself from the mattress. Always have I felt alone, but never alone in spirit. He’s not speaking to me at the moment, and I’m not sure whether I should rejoice or sulk in my own shadows because I don’t have his company.

In the wood, where beasts lurk
Dark shadows descend,
An eerie atmosphere blankets the air
Fog masks the wood
Flowers wither, plants wilt
Creepiness bounds the rocky paths
As blackness slowly creeps
The cold air huffs
Through the fog, the woods of deathClick for full article
